Skip hire in Old Bar
Old Bar, Wallabi Point and Manning Point are popular coastal villages with a mix of permanent homes and holiday houses. Typical skip jobs here are holiday-house turnovers, older fibro-era homes being renovated, and garden clean-ups with palm fronds, tea-tree and lawn clippings.
For a turnover with old furniture and bedding, 4–6 m³ is common. For a garden-only job, ask for a green-waste bin, which is often cheaper.
Sandy ground
Coastal blocks can be sandy. A skip on soft sand or lawn can sink or leave ruts, so a driveway or firm hardstand is best. Use timber planks to spread the load, and tell the operator about any slope.
Nearest tip
The closest MidCoast Council waste centre is the Taree Waste Management Centre at 6843 The Bucketts Way, Tinonee, open daily 7am to 5pm. It charges by weight on its weighbridge and has a Community Recycling Centre for household paint, oils, gas bottles and batteries.
Asbestos
Older beach houses and holiday fibros were often built with fibro sheeting, which can contain asbestos. It can never go in a general skip. In NSW, more than 10 m² of bonded asbestos must be removed by a licensed removalist.
